Genre-specific Blog


This blog is titled "I Will Teach You to be Rich." In it, there are hundreds of tips and facts on how to maintain personal finances and achieve financial security. Due to the recent economic crisis, many of the posts focus on how to save money in 2009. There are many links and suggested readings - all of which guide readers and fellow bloggers to more sites and resources on how to be financially savvy in 2009. Many of the links are "topic specific", going beyond just finances and taking people to posts about real estate, 401Ks, etc.

I chose this blog due to it's specificity and pertinence. Also, personal finances are of interest to me and it was exciting to find this blog, full of advice, tips and recommendations from people who are also going through a hard time, and those who know how to help people with their finances. This blog does not exactly follow traditional journalistic standards, in that the writing is more casual. But this blog definitely has a niche - the "personal finances in 2009" niche.
